Not only for experimenting, this blog is great for communicating and sharing resources. Quite some time ago I came across an erotic writer's thesaurus but lost the bookmark. I just found this website and notice she has the thesaurus. There are some very good articles about writing, not just for erotic writers - for any romance writer. Writing alpha males, writing angst, character arc..all kinds of aspects.

The site is for writer Morgan Hawke. Take a look!

Tension

Angela, I have the same problem. And I always mention Anna Jacobs comments at a RWNZ conference a few years ago about how, if you think you've made it difficult for your heroine, just throw more at her and make it more difficult...or words to that effect. I took a look and found her website and she's written some articles that some people might be interested in.

I've moved on to another Christine Feehan book - the tension is right there at the start of the book, I don't want to put it down and get on with my work! A prolific writer, she's written many books in this "Dark" series, about Carpathian vampires. I read a Freda Warrington book once about a vampire, "A Taste of Blood Wine" and loved it. Never found a good vampire story since, I didn't enjoy Anne Rice's books. But after reading one book, I think I'm going to love Christine Feehan's stories.

(PS Notice I put links in the body of this post. I have another browser window open at the website I'm referring to, I highlighted the words/name, clicked the little green icon at the head of the new post form - looks like a light green ball with glasses on - then pasted the web address into the window that opened. Means anyone can click the link and go to the webpage I'm writing about.)
(PPS I added a "tag cloud" to the sidebar. It contains labels from posts. You can add key words so if someone comes to the blog and they want to read whatever we've written about, say, conflict, they can click on the word in the tag cloud and those posts will be brought up. When you post, if there's a key word you could add, put it in the label line.)

MY WIP

I'm three quarters of the way through my WIP and I'm still making heaps of changes to the story line. I'm trying to develop my characters personalities more (make them stronger) I have a habit of writing my characters as nicey, nice people all the time. I'm also working hard at stretching out the internal conflict I find it hard to come up with ways to keep them from living happily ever after.

Is Anybody Out There?

Hi and thanks for the email Sandra on how to get this far. I missed the workshop on Sunday and really need to understand more about how this blogging thing works. It's a very unfortunate choice of name, it always sounds faintly unsavoury/unhealthy like something involving PVC clothing or blocked sinuses. Please, please somebody answer me to know I got out of the starting blocks! Cheers, Michelle.

Inaugural posting

I've set up this blog so all the members of our group who are interested in creating a blog can experiment. You can try posting, changing the colours, fonts, upload images, learn about tags, and making links...and so on. Don't worry about making a mistake or making anything disappear or whatever - it's an experiment.

Have a good play with it. I think I've got it set up so the blog isn't shared publicly, but still remember all the usual cautions about posting personal details.

Have fun! We can always delete this if we decide we don't want it any more.
